Hey Bank Bank Classic-ers

For many of us, the end of summer brings about the winding down of our racing season.  With warmer weather and longer days, the summer often proves to be the perfect season for us to log plenty of miles. Also, the area race calendar is filled with tons of excellent races throughout the summer.  So many of us log tons of miles throughout the summer on the streets, in various parks and on the boardwalks. Many of us finally smash our PR’s in August after a few months of consistent running/

Then, the Autumn season comes upon us.  The temperatures cool, the kids return to school, football games needs to be watched and the days start to get shorter.  Our weeks of running 5 consistent days often dwindle to 1 or 2 days of running.  Mother nature may prevent us from getting out for a good run.

However, we at the Red Bank Classic Committee strongly encourages you to “Keep At It”.  Autumn in New Jersey is still a perfect time to get out and enjoy the world’s greatest sport.  The cooler temperatures provides the perfect opportunity to push through it and log further distances.  As the leaves change, area parks are filled with the beauty and serenity of falling leaves and a montage of wonderful Fall colors.  Plus there are still lots of amazing races in the area from 5K’s to Half Marathons to Marathons.  Races like Sandy Hook Half Marathon, the LBI 18 Miler and the legendary NYC Marathon are can’t miss events that should be on your radar.  If the shorter distances are more your speed there are some great 5K’s in Asbury Park, Middletown, Bradley Beach and Wall.

Not only do these races offer a great running experience, they will keep you motivated and in shape to keep going throughout the Winter season.  We hope that Autumn is a continuation of your running season and not an endpoint to it.  So our advice…skip Monday Night Football, grab your running shoes and Go Get It.  If you continue throughout the “off months” you will be so much stronger than the others and knocking out PR’s in early 2020.  Plus, the Red Bank Classic will be here next June before you know it and you may take a place on top of the podium!
